At Omitsuta, art and fashion converge to create unique, handcrafted pieces that celebrate tradition and thoughtful consumption. Omitsuta specializes in clothing and accessories made using the traditional Japanese shibori technique, resulting in items that are designed to last.

Omitsuta was born from my passion for art, fashion, and my cultural heritage. Being both Japanese and Swiss, yet raised in Europe, I created Omitsuta as a way to connect with my Japanese roots. Each piece is a reflection of this journey, blending decorative art with modern fashion to create something truly special.

I believe in conscious consumption. My approach rejects the impulse of "scroll and buy," advocating instead for thoughtful purchasing. Each piece is made to order, crafted specifically for you once you choose your model and color. This ensures that every item is not just a purchase, but a cherished addition to your wardrobe and belongins.

While I mostly use polyester materials to ensure the longevity and integrity of the shibori shapes, I am deeply conscious of the urgent need to shift our way of consuming.

To minimize waste and promote sustainability, I:

  • Create Very Small Batches: I produce in small quantities

  • Maintain Low to Zero Stock: Each piece is handcrafted and made to order, ensuring minimal waste.

  • Encourage Thoughtful Purchases: My made-to-order approach reduces impulsive buying and promotes thoughtful, cherished purchases.

The heart of Omitsuta lies in the meticulous process of shibori. Fabrics are hand-tied and then steamed to permanently imprint a 3D relief pattern, ensuring every item is one-of-a-kind. This technique embodies the essence of Japanese craftsmanship, embracing a slow, patient, and meticulous process that takes time but yields beautiful results.

Thank you for being a part of my journey. Discover the beauty and individuality of Omitsuta today.
